Food has a major effect on how we look and feel. Too much sugar, gluten and inflammatory foods<\/a> can wreck havoc and make us feel emotionally, mentally and physically depleted.<\/p>\n When I put healthy things inside I immediately feel good…..boosted by a renewed sense of energy and well being.<\/p>\n I made a YUMMY raw kale soup last week. It\u2019s almost as fast as making a smoothie AND it\u2019s chock full of minerals, vitamins and protein! With kale so abundant right now, it\u2019s the perfect time to try\u2026<\/p>\n SPICY RAW KALE SOUP WITH PEPITAS<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00bd cup raw pepitas (pumpkin seeds)<\/p>\n 3 cups fairly tightly packed kale<\/p>\n 3 \u00bd cups water<\/p>\n 3 tbsp lemon juice<\/p>\n 1\/4\u00a0cup apple juice<\/p>\n 1\/2 cup mashed avocado<\/p>\n 1 tbsp peeled minced ginger<\/p>\n 1\/2\u00a0tsp sea salt<\/p>\n 1 tsp diced hot pepper<\/p>\n 1\/8 tsp black pepper<\/p>\n \u00bd tsp chili powder<\/p>\n 1 tbsp olive oil<\/p>\n 2 tsp tamari<\/p>\n 1 tbsp minced cilantro<\/p>\n \u00bc cup minced red bell pepper for garnish<\/p>\n Place pepitas in a small bowl with ample water to cover. Allow to sit for 15 minutes. Drain ans rinse well.<\/p>\n Place all ingredients in blender except red pepper and cilantro and blend until creamy.<\/p>\n Transfer to bowls add cilantro and stir well.
