It always seems to happen like this – one action sparks another and another and then another. In this case it was the creation of my Vision Board that seemed to be the catalyst for a sudden surge of A-ha’s that came fast and furiously.

Thoughts and ideas were bubbling to the surface at such an alarming rate that I had to keep a pen and paper attached to me if I hoped to capture (ok…..remember) any of them. One of the ‘flashes’ was to extend the Vision Board concept and create a personal manifesto. As much as I liked the idea I filed it away for another time.

A week later my husband and I were in an eclectic garden shop in Seattle and saw the piece above. In unison we shouted, “I like that“. We looked at each other and laughed. It was perfect for us and the – We do loud really well – eerily spot on! I’d come to the conclusion we were indeed, The Loud Family, more than 22 years ago when Kelly was a toddler!

With no choice but to buy, we happily brought it home and hung it up. “This is the manifesto of our house!” I announce. We smile and nod, pleased we’d found something that so clearly articulated what we and our home stood for.

Which brought me back to the personal manifesto idea….the sparks started to fly.

I’d always loved the lululemon manifesto….. I goggled it to refresh my memory.

The process of writing my personal manifesto could be an anchor to my Vision Board. This time I decided to Act.

I’ve started to write my manifesto (principles that guide my life and a declaration of all I believe to be true). I’m not sure where it will take me but if it’s anything like creating a Vision Board it’s bound to be exciting, thought provoking and deeply insightful.

I’m expecting the process to take a few weeks as my thoughts clarify and go deeper…..here’s what I’ve go so far:

My Personal Manifesto for Life
