I thought I would introduce the red shoes to her by strutting down the hallway and entering the room where she was watching TV.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat do you think?\u201d I proudly asked her. Her reply was simply, \u201cMom you are going to have an accident in those shoes!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I explained the history and legacy of the shared footwear. She loved the idea, the journey of the shoes. I decided to sit in a chair, cross my legs, swinging and swaying my festive feet before her as we talked.<\/p>\n<p>At that moment the chair seat collapsed through its frame taking my ample bottom with it. I was decidedly stuck. As I clambered around with the festooned feet elevated I pulled myself out catching a nail in my left cheek.<\/p>\n<p>I cannot remember a recent time that I have heard my daughter belly laugh that loud. The shoes accompanied me to my workplace the next day. They were admired and held. I wore them only once more.<\/p>\n<p>That was when I entrusted to the next scheduled wearer, Debbie. She thought they made my legs look sexy.
