{"id":10022,"date":"2019-01-15T13:53:10","date_gmt":"2019-01-15T21:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/redshoezone.ca\/?p=10022"},"modified":"2025-12-22T01:33:25","modified_gmt":"2025-12-22T09:33:25","slug":"vision-board-gets-you-over-january-hump","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ohmywordjournal.com\/redshoezone\/vision-board-gets-you-over-january-hump\/","title":{"rendered":"A Fun Way To Get Over The January Hump"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re approaching the hump called \u2018mid-January\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>This is when all good intentions can&#8230;.<em>.well<\/em>\u2026.be\u00a0tucked away for another year.<\/p>\n<h1>Quitter&#8230;.<em>Shmitter<\/em><\/h1>\n<p>Did you know there\u2019s actually a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/life-style\/quitters-day-new-years-resolutions-give-up-fail-today-a8155386.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quitters Day<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>Yep.<\/p>\n<p>So if you&#8217;re still on track that&#8217;s great news because&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>We just passed it, it\u2019s technically the second Friday in January.<\/p>\n<p>That marks the day that, research data out of the UK found that self-motivation to keep up New Year\u2019s resolutions takes a hit and starts to plummet.<\/p>\n<h1>No quitters among us<\/h1>\n<p>Since we don\u2019t want Red Shoe readers to fall victim to this rather ominous sounding day and be labelled a quitter <em>(nnnnnoooooo)<\/em> here\u2019s a kick in the form of a fun art project to keep you going.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s called a <a href=\"https:\/\/ohmywordjournal.com\/redshoezone\/make-a-vision-board-change-your-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vision Board<\/a>, it\u2019s fun to make and the best thing is that it really does work.<\/p>\n<p>The last one I made was in 2013. \u00a0I documented the making of it in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ohmywordjournal.com\/redshoezone\/make-a-vision-board-change-your-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I pulled it out the other day and (honestly) wasn\u2019t really surprised to see that almost everything represented on my vision board is now a part of my life. In the last 6 years I&#8217;ve stepped out of my comfort zone&#8230;.built my coaching practice, championed women to become all they can be, been asked to speak at over 50 women&#8217;s retreats and events, traveled to Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Croatia and Italy, have a strong, fit body, and have an idea for a book currently being workshop-ed by a group of women across the county.\u00a0 Unfilled is the desire to build a large platform for service. I know that will come. Only one dream left to fulfill.<\/p><\/div>\n<h1>How it Works<\/h1>\n<p>It\u2019s all based on taking a thought out of the \u2018intellect\u2019 and making it tangible by putting images to it allowing you to see it, feel it and believe it.<\/p>\n<p>Replacing a thought with representative images moves the thought into another part of the brain (the activation cortex) where the brain seeks to find opportunities to make the thought concrete.<\/p>\n<p>Jack Canfield bestselling author of (among others) Chicken Soup for the Soul, The Aladdin Factor and The Success Principles says that, <em>\u201ccreating a vision board is probably one of the most powerful visualization tools available to you, a concrete representation of your desires for your dream life with images that you can see.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<h1>Be a Super Lady<\/h1>\n<p>It\u2019s like being granted superpowers to create anything you dared to imagine.<\/p>\n<p>Seriously.
